"These Memories Can't Wait" - Beryl Solla: A Retrospective
Information technology is a joy to celebrate the rich life of Beryl Solla, the late Professor of Art at PVCC and the artist represented in this evidence .
This exhibition highlights Beryl's creations and community, which live on affixed to the walls of loved ones, adorning bookshelves and enriching public spaces in Charlottesville and across.
Some of the pieces in this exhibit are unfinished. They are included partly for educational purposes but as well because Beryl wasn't done! These pieces gives us a window into her procedure to run into the many steps she took to create these seemingly effortless creations. Beryl knew the existent truth of being an artist - that to create is to make a conscious choice in the moment, to fly with bunnies and, in a higher place all, to say yes.

Annual Kinesthesia Fine art Exhibition
The 2021 Almanac Faculty Art Exhibition features work from our full-time faculty and adjuncts. All of our outstanding faculty are agile in their fields and well known in the fine art customs. We are likewise featuring the piece of work of adjunct, Jonah Tobias,who teaches in our newly minted Graphics & Media Arts program. Tobias' animations are filled with "mysterious people doing mysterious things" and his love of animation is a joy to witness .

Every year we present work from our amazing art students with keen pride through the Annual Student Art Exhibition . We are proud to showcase some of the fantastic work created by our students during each academic twelvemonth. This impressive brandish of work motivates us all to keep doing what we do best...make art!

"The Forum"
The Forum , PVCC's student paper, is an opportunity for students to gain journalism feel while providing news and opinions of interest to the college community. Students tin can have part through writing, photography, cartoon, editing, and design.
"The Fall Line"
The Autumn Line , PVCC'south literary magazine, is a commemoration of PVCC pupil writing and art. Published each spring, The Fall Line features fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction and comics--all selected past members of the Creative Writing Social club—alongside student art. The magazine is designed by the Advanced Computer Graphics grade and published in both print and digital form.
"Insights" Student Journal
Insights is an annual journal that provides a platform for student research within the Humanities, Fine Arts, and Social Scientific discipline Division at Piedmont Virginia Community College. Papers are nominated by instructors for inclusion in the periodical. Once nominated, students work with faculty editors to modify their work. Each year, the top three student enquiry papers are formally recognized.
PVCC Fine Arts & Performance
Piedmont Virginia Community Higher features performances, workshops and exhibitions from our Theater, Music and Fine art departments and clubs, also as a rich array of professional trip the light fantastic toe, theatre and visual arts programming as part of our Fine and Performing Arts Series. Since 1999, PVCC's Fine and Arts and Operation Series has offered high-quality arts experiences that entertain, enrich and educate students and the larger community.

PVCC Professor Jennifer Koster Receives State Council of Higher Instruction for Virginia 2021 Outstanding Kinesthesia Award
Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is proud to announce Professor Jennifer Koster as a recipient of the State Council of Higher Pedagogy for Virginia (SCHEV) 2021 Outstanding Kinesthesia Award. The Outstanding Faculty Laurels is the Democracy'southward highest honor for faculty at Virginia's public and private colleges and universities. These awards recognize superior accomplishments in teaching, research and public service.
Koster is an English professor and the Writing Center coordinator at PVCC. Through her work and classes she builds customs and encourages students to explore their interests as potential areas of study. Koster is committed to education and demonstrates this delivery across communities in Virginia. She is founder of the Virginia Community College System's Learning Assistance Professionals Peer Group, coordinator of the Virginia chapter of the Southeastern Writing Center Association (SWCA) and Virginia representative to the SWCA Lath. In add-on, this year she initiated Virginia's first statewide tutor collaboration, TuColla-VA.
"Professor Jennifer Koster is a remarkable educator who is truly deserving of the SCHEV Outstanding Faculty Award. The award is a testament to her boggling dedication to PVCC students," noted Dean of Humanities, Fine Arts and Social Sciences Dr. Leonda Keniston.
